Full Name: Lucas the Observer (or, more formally, just The Observer)
Description: cream-colored tom with dark brown stripes and orange eyes
Age: 2.4 years (28 moons)
Position: Head Observer
Personality: He's very kind-hearted, strong, and observant, but sometimes he accidentally lets his ambition get the best of him and control his actions. He became an Observer, not only because he had a spot to refill, but because he wanted to be able to make sure he wouldn't let his thoughts control his decisions ever again. Although occasionally, some of his ambitions show through his words.

Background

Lucas started off as a small kitten treated fairly well along with his siblings, Note, Scarlet, and Serenity. He lived in the North Kingdom, which was a beautiful city with a lot of things to do. Lucas and his brother, Note, would occasionally go to the stream that forms a border with the East Kingdom and talk to the fish. Not that they ever responded, of course! His sisters, Scarlet and Serenity, would constantly tell them that the fish couldn't understand them, but they still went off to do it every now and then. Regardless of their weird pastimes, they still had a lot of fun together. It was nice way to live.

But it all went downhill when Paradox, his father, was killed in a battle with the opposite kingdom named the South Kingdom. Since he was the Head Observer, it left the kingdom in a small chaos. Scarlet, Lucas's sister, was the most devastated. But she was also furious, and Lucas couldn't see it until it was too late. She started hanging out more with the guards, dropping subtle hints about what she wanted. And then she was designated to the Fighter position when it was time to receive their positions. Lucas, now being an Observer, was ordered to watch the Fighters train, and was always grimly reminded of how ruthless Scarlet had gotten since Paradox died. He tried to tell Note and Serenity, but they wouldn't listen to him. He just knew this was going to end badly.

And Lucas was right....

It was then, that fateful day, that it happened. 

A second battle had appeared with the South Kingdom on the horizon. Lucas was telling Scarlet about the South Kingdom's weaknesses, and Note was giving her healing items to hold in her fanny-pack for whenever she got hurt. When the Fighters departed to lead an attack, a storm brewed above in the clouds. Lightning streaked across the sky, lighting up the fur of the Fighter cats. Lucas knew something was off about this situation... something didn't feel right. When he left to watch the battle with the other Observers, Note and Serenity insisted that they come with them. They said they didn't feel right about this battle, either. Letting them come, the temporary Head Observer named Stripes led them to the battle. And what the three siblings saw left them frozen in shock. Scarlet was lying in a pool of her own blood, and another cat lay beside her in a pool of his own blood. Stripes deducted they had both been fighting each other to the death--and it ended in a draw.

Lucas was left speechless. Scarlet's urge to get rid of the cats who had killed Paradox led to her own downfall.

After seeing where Scarlet's attitude led her to, all the Observers stopped the battle, somehow convincing the South Kingdom to let them leave in peace. All of the North Kingdom cats carried Scarlet back to the kingdom, all of them upset about what happened. They vowed it would never happen again.

Months later, at the final battle they had with the South Kingdom, Lucas was determined to make sure a Fighter never got too angry like Scarlet had. He told them all the weaknesses again, and things to watch out for, but he also reminded them to respect the South Kingdom, even if they were their enemies. 

After that famous battle with the North Kingdom cats practically letting the South Kingdom cats win and let them earn their respect, every cat celebrated. Stripes celebrated as well, but then realized something. Lucas was surprised when the celebration suddenly turned into a ceremony. It was then that Lucas was designated to be the new Head Observer after Paradox, for helping the North Kingdom cats see that even their enemies deserved respect.

As we speak, Lucas is ordering around Observers and making sure they get their job done correctly. But don't think it's over just because he's a high rank! There are still many things going on with this plot, so stay tuned!

Additional Information

He has a necklace he received from his mom, Misty, but he never wears it because of how distant she got when Paradox died. He still does keep it in his room and occasionally put it on his tail to see how it'd look, though!
